Cricket for All 2012
Since the launch of our 'Cricket For All' programme the last few years have continued to prove a success especially since we expanded it to include the Primary Schools. We would like this success to continue and with this in mind we will have more qualified coaches at all levels. In the eight years that the programme has been running, well over 600 different young people have attended our weekly Coaching Sessions. As we continue to expand, this year’s Cricket for All Coaching Sessions will be just as big. In an effort to facilitate this expansion, we are moving the Monday programme to the Friday evening with the same start and finishing times. We have done this to create a more relaxed atmosphere so parents and children aren't worried about having to attend school or work the following day. We hope this will relieve the pressure some of us feel on Monday evenings trying to get everything organised for the following day. The sessions will take place primarily at our Harrow Lodge ground although some sessions may be transferred to our 3rd and 4th XI home ground, Fielders Sports Ground. A map of our home grounds can be viewed by clicking this 'Club Grounds' link. Notification will be posted on the web site and in the Club House. Once again we want to allow the youngsters to show off their talents, so we have continued with the Under 9 Youth team. A full fixture list awaits them all. The Cricket For All programme will be open to all young people regardless of their ability, sex or culture. There will be a nominal cost of £2.00 per child payable on the evening at Registration. This is necessary to allow temporary membership of the Club so the youngsters and their families can use the facilites of the Club. Please obtain a receipt to confirm payment. At least four qualified coaches will be in attendance each session giving basic coaching on batting, bowling and fielding, and then progressing to higher levels depending on individuals abilities. Our programme has been put together in conjunction with Essex County Cricket Club, Active Sport and the Leisure and Cultural Services of Havering. We have also continued to received enthusiastic support from all local schools who see this as an ideal opportunity to further develop cricket locally. Cricket for All Caps and T-Shirts
